Blast From the Past: Introducing the Orient Star Heritage Gothic

Did you know that the first watch ever released under the Orient Watch brand name was called the “Orient Star”? It was this initial release that inspired the creation of the Orient Star collection, a collection that stands for heightened quality, materials, and craftsmanship. The new Orient Star Heritage Gothic takes inspiration from the first Orient Star models that were released over 65 years ago, which featured two hands and a small-seconds sub-register.

What we love about the new Heritage Gothic are the classic numbers and the leaf hands, both of which were prominent design points of the original Orient Star. The small seconds sub-dial features a similar concentric styling as well. The Heritage Gothic goes a step further with the addition of a power reserve indicator, date window, and even an exhibition case back.

The new Heritage Gothic measures in at 38.7mm wide, 12.5mm thick, and 46mm lug-to-lug. On the top end, the dial is protected by a slightly domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Powering the watch is the new Orient caliber F6G42, a 24 jeweled movement that is automatic, hand-winding, and hacking.
