The Brand New Orient Star Semi-Skeleton Watches

The Orient Star collection has always stood for excellence in design, innovation, and craftsmanship. Its namesake originates from the first model released by the brand in 1951, and since then has operated as a top-tier segment for the Orient Watch brand. In fact, the watches featuring power reserve, retrograde, world time complications etc. were first introduced in Orient Star timepieces before they made their way to the main watch series. Today, we’re pleased to introduce two new additions to the Orient Star line, specifically from the Semi-Skeleton collection.

RE-DA0001L00A, RE-DA0002L00A

Aesthetically, they’ve taken inspiration from a classic Scottish tartan colorway: blue with hints of green and gold throughout. This open heart piece features a simple but elegant design and layout. The dial features a sharp pinstripe that provides a deep visual contrast to the metallic sun burst effect. Along with the gold accents, a light forest green shade can be found around the chapter ring, the open heart display, and within the power reserve indicator. It is important to note that the green doesn’t overpower or provide clear contrast from the soft navy blue at first; its only when light is reflected that the color difference is most apparent. The case measures at 39mm across and is only 11.9mm thick. Lume has been applied to both hands as well as in pips above each hour marker. The lugs are embellished with a curved bevel design, exposing a luxe brushed and polished steel finish. The sapphire crystal is also coated with an anti-reflective layer, and the calfskin strap is navy blue with a green underlay. This model is limited to just 1000 pieces worldwide and is individually numbered.

RE-DK0001L00A

This particular model features more of a semi-skeleton design, which a larger open heart window and additional dial cutouts throughout. The caliber 40S62 affords the watch to have a power reserve indicator and a small seconds display, both of which feature hands that are red-tipped. The predominant dark navy color is contrasted by a dark turquoise, a combination that helps highlight the rose gold accents and polished steel hour markers. While the dial may seem dark, the color is almost metallic, and turning the watch ever so slightly reveals a gradient of color. The watch case is 41mm wide and 12.4mm thick and also features an anti-reflective coating on the crystal. This model is offered with either a calfskin strap (black with a cobalt stitching and a green underlay) or stainless steel bracelet. They are limited to 2000 pieces each worldwide in each rendition, and are individually numbered.
