Chasing the Watch Glow!

When we think about Halloween themes, it’s not just about ghouls and jack-o’- lanterns —the watch geek in us is also thinking about that awesome greenish fluorescence. Yep, we’re talking about lume, the material that allows watches to glow in low light, and gives it the ultimate cool factor. And while it may not go well with this year’s costume, it could be useful this Halloween in other ways: it can be an incredible tool to use while trick-or-treating, or an excuse to look down while braving a Halloween maze or haunted house you were forced to walk through. Even though we have already discussed the history behind luminescence in watches, questions we receive repeatedly include what kind of lume Orient uses in their watches and how certain watch looks when the lights are off. A majority of our watches are applied with Nemoto Luminova, a Japanese brand and co-proprietor of Swiss Super LumiNova. We’ve rounded up a few of our most popular models to give you a look at how they glow:

The EM65 USA II

The Classic AA03=2

The AA02
