How often do you see a women’s watch that has been built to withstand the elements? The Gem is the quintessential women’s sport watch that has been dressed with a rose gold flair. Its multidimensional style and elegance has been paired with a solid set of features and detail, making it a resilient timepiece that’s ready to brave whatever winter has in store.
The Gem has been released in 3 colorways – black, chocolate and mother of pearl. Aside from the latter, the colors of the dial feature a sunburst effect, highlighting a subtle texture on the surface. The hour markers are made up of a combination of both shimmering stones and rose tone roman numerals. While the hands are rose tone as well, they are lumed, in addition to the pips above each hour marker.
The case of the watch is 32mm across and nearly fully comprised of a rich rose tone. The bezel has been split into a two toned design, with a sporty, satin black accent in between rose tone layers. The lugs are detailed as well, with an exquisite beveling that’s normally found on watches at a higher price point. The lugs are curved downward into a fitted, comfortable silicone strap that should feel great on the wrist.
Now onto the specs of the watch: The Gem watch is powered by Orient’s caliber 40N41 movement, which is both automatic and hand-winding, both nifty features to have the up and ticking in no time. The crystal that covers the dial is a scratch resistant sapphire. Sapphire crystals generally will keep watches looking brand new. The case has been rated with a 100m water resistance, reinforced by a screw case back and screwed down crown. These two features are usually found on watches in our diver and sport series. Paired with the impermeable nature of a silicone strap, the Gem watch will tackle the rain and snow with relative ease.
