Fancy this: The Return of the Orient Class

_DSC2786

The slim profile watch has been a staple amongst casual wearers and collectors. And while not too many people can afford to spend serious money on a Swiss slim line automatic, they have to turn to quartz options. After a brief hiatus, Orient Watch USA is happy to announce the return of the Class collection, a group of very slim watches that are as elegant as they are weightless.

The Orient Class collection comes in a variety of black and white dial designs with different handsets, from roman numerals, to Breguet-styled numbers to a very minimal look with dauphine or thin sword hands. The dial features a lot of depth—the inside circle portion is indented to the dial as a whole that gives it a lot of dimension and sophistication. The white, numbered dials feature sleek blue metallic hands. Unique to the Class is a two hand only display, which is great for many reasons. This means the “hard tick” found exclusively on quartz watches is non-existent. At first glance, you wouldn’t know that it is a quartz watch, which could be seen as a positive. At the six o’clock position is a nifty date display and it is important to note that Orient used a sapphire crystal for these watches.

Now about the thinness of the watch: They measure at 38mm across and only 7.25mm thin. They’re approximately as tall as three quarters stacked. The case is made of fully polished stainless steel and employs long curved lugs that add extra comfort on the wrist. The watch is available on leather, or bracelet (stainless steel, gold tone or two-tone). The watches retail at $205, $230, $260, and $275, respectively.
