This includes the dial contrast and the overall layout of the subdial registers and outer world time ring. With such an array of function and features, the dial does not seem crowded— everything is accessible at just a quick glance. Additionally, unlike other Orient Star models, the World Time features lume on the hands and a little above each hour marker. The exceptional dial finishes should also be highlighted: the Jet Black dial features a lavish satin finish, while the Midnight Blue colorway is, in our opinion, just might be the most elegant blue we’ve ever produced.

If you loved the dial, you’ll love the case even more: the craftsmanship and attention to detail is what you’d expect from an Orient Star. For instance, the polished beveling on the lugs is a perfect tie-in to the finish of the bracelet. The case has been treated with a Sallaz polishing, a special technique that creates an exquisite polished surface. Furthermore, the sides of the case are brushed, which will help conceal random scratches. The sapphire crystal has been treated with Orient’s own SAR (super antireflective) coating to grant increased visibility. It not only suppresses reflection, but adds greater scratch and stain resistance.
