Fit For A Voyage -- The Orient Voyager FDH01002D CDH01002D DH01002D

FDH01002D0 Voyager.Still021It’s said that every business traveler or globetrotter needs a trusty watch. We’re inclined to agree. We find that constantly being able to keep track of time gives you a piece of mind, whether you realize it or not. The Orient Voyager has been available from Orient Watch USA for quite some time, but never with a blue dial. We’ve received a very limited run of the FDH01002D0, and you won’t want to miss out.

The dial of the FDH01002D is very executive looking, which makes it great to wear with a button down shirt and tie. The dark, matte navy in color will complement just about anything. A majority of the dial features a stamped pinstripe pattern. However, the power reserve indicator and date wheel at the top and bottom of the dial is solid matte navy (without the stripe pattern). The high contrast Dual Time window is at three o’clock. The hour markers are made of polished stainless steel with luminescent material covering the surface. The hour, minute and power reserve hands are lumed as well. The inner slide rule bezel is operated by the crown at four o’clock. A slide rule is very useful for doing basic mathematic conversions. Furthermore, the dial is protected by a sapphire crystal.

Both watch crowns are screwed down by design and bear the Orient stamp logo. This heavily reinforces the 100m water resistance of the beefy 43.7mm stainless steel case. The bezel is embellished with a rounded tooth design that has two layers. This gives an executive watch a rather sporty look. The drilled lug holes make it easy to the bracelet with another band. The bracelet that comes with the FDH01002D is oyster styled with polished accents. The Orient Voyager houses Orient’s 48K41 mechanical movement that is self-winding and hacking and can be seen through the clear case back. The movement is fully dressed. The thing to note here is that not many watches outside of the Orient Star line have the hacking feature.

The Orient Voyager CDH01002D retails at $715, but with code ‘winter2013’, this hackable, Dual Time watch with sapphire crystal can be had for only $500.
