It's Tim Hoey!

You tweet a lot about basketball, who is your favorite team? Boston Celtics. Green runs deep.

Time is really important on the court, gotta make that shot before the shot clock runs down... Do you ever feel rushed like that in the studio? Not so much. You have to take the attitude of 'it's finished when it's finished.' Although in the past we have made the the mistake of booking shows when haven't finished recording and it's delayed the completion of some records. But sometimes that pressure can be good. It's quite easy to get lost in the writing-and-recording rabbit hole. It can be good to have something or someone pull you out of it.

Where is the most stunningly beautiful place you've ever been? On this album cycle we were lucky enough to visit a place called Praia Almada which is few hours outside of São Paulo. We'd flown from Spain so i think it took us 35 hours to get there but it was totally worth it. We had our own little shacks nestled in the forest and there was a short walk to our own beach. It was tourist off-season so we were the only ones around. I guess thats what it feels like to own your own private island. I could get used to it.

What is keeping time like when you're on the road touring? Time becomes completely irrelevant. The only time that matters is stage-call time. You changes cities, countries and time zones every day so its impossible to feel grounded. There is nothing rockstar or romantic about it. Its disorientating but we wouldn't change it for the world.

What's your favorite watch style? I like things classic and understated, so I'd go with the ER24, Vintage or Capital.

What is the one piece of style advice you could give anyone, anywhere in the world? Don't take style advice from me.

What's the perfect song to put into a DJ set? Carl Craig remix of Falling Up. Its about 10 mins long but we made a 30 minute edit of it.

What do you find yourself listening to right now? As I'm typing this I'm listening to Spacemen 3 - The Perfect Prescription.

If you could travel to any where, any date, past or present - where would you go? Always live in the here and now. Tim Hoey (mainly) plays guitar  in Melbourne, Australia band Cut Copy. You can follow them on Twitter here, Facebook here, and of course Instagram here. Their latest record is called Free Your Mind, which you can get here. If you're in San Francisco on New Year's Eve, you can dance to Cut Copy when they play Mezzanine.
