Orient Watch USA is proud to introduce a new Orient Star model – the “Open Heart”. At first glance, it undoubtedly exudes the utmost elegance, but further observation reveals stunning and meticulous craftsmanship: everything you’d expect from Orient Star. It is offered in two colorways, the SD02002B (Black dial) and the SD02002W (White dial).

The Open Heart features, you guessed it, an open heart/semi-skeleton dial design in addition to the signature power reserve indicator. The stainless steel indices reflect light beautifully to give the watch a nice conservative glimmer. In the case of the SDA02002W (white), it is very easy to notice the amount of patience that went into painting the dial, stroke by stroke. A tough sapphire crystal with anti-reflection coating covers the dial to keep the watch looking fresh and new. The different textures in the stainless steel case are worth noting, with polished stainless steel on the top and bottom layers and a single direction brushed steel that accents the center. The bracelet matches the sophistication seen in the case and is very comfortable, always feeling contoured to the wearer’s wrist. The Open Heart features an exhibition case back that gives the viewer a peak at its dressed movement and of course, its exclusive Orient Star oscillating weight, complete with stamped logo.  At 39mm in diameter, it certainly could be considered an ode to the classic Orient time pieces that came before it, but trust that whilst on the wrist, it doesn’t appear nor feel small at all.

The Open Heart houses the Orient caliber 40R53 movement that is made in Japan. What’s truly distinguishable about this particular movement is that it is both self-winding and hand-winding. And for added accuracy, it possesses a second hand halting mechanism, or hacking function. The Orient Star “Open Heart” is a simply stunning, classic time piece.  It is one of a kind, and is nothing less than what you’d expect from the Orient Star line.
