Return of the Field Watch

The modern field watch has served as a bridge between technical pieces and everyday sport watches. The field watch was a stark example, evidenced by its functionality, versatility, and utilitarian styling. We’re excited to announce that the field watch has returned as a part of our Spring/Summer 2017 collection. We mentioned that the field watch blurs the lines for a sports watch, and here’s why. From a utility standpoint, the day, date and 24-hour dial couldn’t be more useful, and at the least, practical for this kind of watch. The chapter ring marks time at 1/5th of a second in addition to the minute/second scale in 5 unit denominations. Stylistically, the high contrast in the dial really brings out this military-inspired motif. The hour markers are slightly lifted off the dial, which adds to the “pop” and legibility altogether. The sub-dials feature a concentric design in order to dull the contrast within them, and they serve to help the eyes concentrate on the hour markers instead. These subtle nuances are a testament to its considered design. At 42mm wide and 12mm thick, the field watch won’t be obtrusive to most. The case is rated to 100m of water resistance, which is reinforced by a screwed-down crown. It’s important to note that the collection features two distinct case finishes. The pebbled-leather strap colorways sport a smooth, matte case finish. The stainless steel bracelet models have a brushed stainless steel finish. The field watch is powered by the venerable caliber 46B40 movement, and may be the last model ever produced to utilize this esteemed mechanical reference.
