Growing up, what did you think you were going to do as a profession?
I've always wanted to be a chef or a cook, but my parents were against the idea of me wanting to work in a kitchen.
How did you get your start in design work?
I got an opportunity to work at Iheartcomix Records in 2005 and my first professional design experience was designing Myspace band pages and event flyers.
You're from Taiwan originally, right? How did that experience influence your creative work?
I was exposed to a lot of Japanese Manga and Anime, growing up. I got inspiration from reading Japanese Manga books, and I would create crazy fictional characters. My mom used to hate it because they were pretty scary looking.
Is it hard to stay focused in a creative field?
Usually when I am working on something creative I have no problem staying in the zone. Also, working on many projects at the same time allows me to not get bored easily.
Your wife is a photographer too, do you collaborate on projects?
We work together on events, or production photo shoots. I think we are a very good team, it's nice for her to have another pair of eyes to catch any inconsistencies. Last time I checked with her she said that I am her favorite person to work with, ever.
Tell us about Kentucky! How does it contrast against your previous home of Los Angeles?
We live in Louisville, Kentucky, that's where my wife Beth is from. It is very different from LA, not as diverse, but much calmer and stress free.
Where should we visit when in Louisville?
Check out the Louisville Slugger Museum, and Makers Mark Distillery. I also suggest everyone check out The Kentucky Derby at least once, it was the best hat party I've ever been to.
What's the one piece of style advice you can give you anyone, anywhere in the world?
Wear clean sneakers and whatever you feel most comfortable with.
Tell us about your Orient Watch:
I got the Orient Disk. It is simple and geometric. I love the color, it is so easy to pair with both my streetwear and formal wear.
What is something the public would never guess about you?
When I was 16, I drove a car for the first time on an abandoned airstrip in Belize.
Where's the most beautiful place you've ever been?
If you could go anywhere, any time - where would you go and why?
I have never been to Europe and I would love to visit Barcelona, Spain one day. If I could go anywhere, anytime, I would go to Camp Nou Stadium in Barcelona on November 29th 2010. When Barcelona FC beat Real Madrid 5-0 in El Clasico.
