The Fall Sport: Presenting the Scout Collection

While the Scout collection is the sportiest offering from our Fall/Winter 2015 collection, it’s not your typical sports watch. Why? Because it has an open heart dial, a unique feature more commonly found in our classic and executive timepieces. Did you know that few watch brands offer as many open heart and semi-skeleton watches as Orient Watch? And of those watch brands, not many of them manufacture their movements themselves.

The Scout watch was intended to bridge the gap between sport and classic. Here we have a large, 42mm wide watch with bold numbering and lines, and color pallets that make it extremely easy to read. The outside ring features an equally aggressive denotation, with triangles marking every fifteen units. The hands are glossed, imitating the polished steel hands of a classic timepiece. There’s lume applied to each hand, including the seconds hand, which is reminiscent of a solid diver watch. The open heart window exposes a shiny automatic movement that beats 21,600 times per hour. To some, the finished movement may seem luxurious, while others may get a rush from watching the balance wheel swing rapidly back and forth. The Scout features curved lugs that contour to the wearer’s wrist for added comfort. The brown leather strap that comes with each watch is soft and features a light padding. This reduces the break in period of the watch, making it wrist ready right away!
