Even as the summer begins to wind down, it’s never too late to pick up a sports watch to wear while you relish these last few days of great weather. Today we’re pleased to announce the latest edition to our Sport line, the Orient FFT03003A0 Guardian. It’s a very masculine looking watch, but with all the bells and whistles you’d expect from an Orient watch.
One look at the Orient Guardian and you’ll know this is a man’s watch. From the big black bezel to the exposed screws on the side of the case, the Orient Guardian is a heavily built watch. The FFT03003A0 features a handsome silver sun burst dial with large numerals at the twelve, three and six o’clock positions (so big in fact that they overlap into the chapter ring). The dial is an open heart by design and is placed around the nine o’clock position. The power reserve indicator is at the twelve o’clock position and interestingly breaks down the hours remaining at 5, 10, 20 and 40, which deviates away from the traditional 10 hour increments. In the nature of this manly watch, the hands are spear-shaped and fairly large. The crown features a diamond pattern for a better grip when screwing and unscrewing the watch.
The Orient Guardian measures in at 47.5mm in diameter, which is fairly large. The lug width is 24mm and the lug to lug width is 53mm. The case is rated at a water resistance of 100m, which is perfect for wearing at the beach or on the boat. The case back is both screw and exhibition which proudly showcases Orient’s 46R40 movement that is fully dressed (and branded). The FFT03003A0 is priced at $705 (and only $493 after using code ‘summer2013’).
