The first things you’ll notice about the Constellation are the intricacies of the dial. Then inner part of the dial is embellished by a rich guilloche design that really speaks to the level of craftsmanship of Orient Watch. At twelve o’clock is a power reserve indicator and at three is a date. The FDJ02001W0 features gold colored hour markers, with roman numerals for twelve, six and nine. The hands that Orient used on the Constellation fit perfectly, with spear tipped hour and minute hands and a diamond-shape tipped GMT hand. They’re all gold colored as well. The chapter ring displays the hours for the GMT function and the dial is covered by a sapphire crystal. At 39.5mm across, it comes at a perfect size. The bracelet is two toned and features a butterfly clasp with double push button.
For starters, the Orient Constellation has all the same bells and whistles found on watches sold at several times the cost. However, it is guaranteed that less than half of those watches feature an in house movement. The Orient caliber 40P51 is one of Orient’s most advanced movements, sporting a GMT, power reserve indicator and date function. The movement is self-winding, hand winding and hacking (second hand halt). It is also fully decorated, which can be seen through the exhibition case back.
